Integrated resort or IR, which comprises amenities that support each other and include a casino gaming component, has become the buzz words in modern hospitality industry. Despite the fact that IR and the gaming-leisure-tourism sector is expanding at a pace never before seen anywhere in Asia and internationally, there is currently no academic institution in Asia that offers a university degree qualifying students in this unique area of study.

Well-Rounded Study Scheme

Our International Integrated Resort Management programmes at the University of Macau not only provide you with fundamental knowledge and skills essential to work in the hospitality services industry, it is dedicated to train students to be the future leaders of the industry with strong critical thinking, forward-looking, managerial, and leadership skills needed for an exciting long-term career in this area.

Global Ranking

The University of Macau (UM) is ranked within top 50 globally and no. 7 in Asia in the QS World University Rankings By Subject 2018 for Hospitality and Leisure Management. In particular, UM ranked 2nd in Asia and 10th globally for Employer Reputation in this subject. Path to Accreditation

As part of the Faculty-wide initiative, all our programmes are currently undergoing the AACSB accreditation process. Our accreditation process started in 2012 and we hope to complete it by the end of 2018. The AACSB accreditation represents the highest standard of achievement for any business schools. While there are currently more than 16,000 business schools worldwide, only less than 5% earned an AACSB accreditation. For more information about AACSB, please click here.

In addition, we are affiliated to PATA (Pacific Asia Travel Association) and Asia-Pacific CHRIE (Council on Hotel, Restaurant, and Institutional Education).
